Global Ecovillage Network – ecovillage info from around the globe

Neighborhoods Online – US guide to neighborhood organizing, social profiles, civic issues, initiatives and community models. Access links to community-reform projects.

 the environment

Bureau of Land Managment (BLM)

EcoNet – Resource links for organizations and individuals working for environmental preservation and sustainability. Includes contacts and news updates.

EnviroLink Network – The Online Environmental Community® – Enormous directory of environmental sites with key concepts concerning environmental justice and global action via access to information.

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) – It's now run by Christine Todd Whitman which is a scary idea but in the past its been a decent resource for environmental information. I guess we'll see if it remains that way.

Greenpeace

Greenpeace-UK

Greenpeace - USA

Justice Department - Environment and Natural Resources Division (ENRD) – The ENRD, formerly known as the Land and Natural Resources Division, was created on November 16, 1909, as the Public Lands Division. The ENRD's litigation is concerned with the protection, use and development of the nation's natural resources and public lands, wildlife protection, Indian rights and claims, cleanup of the nation's hazardous waste sites, the acquisition of private property for federal use, and defense of environmental challenges to government programs and activities. The ENRD is the nation's environmental lawyer, and the largest environmental law firm in the country.

Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC)

USDA Forest Service

Washington Post Online – Good resource page for recent and archived news about GW. Hmm... Global Warming = GW... 'Gee" Dubya = GW... ironic coincidence or evil foreshadowing?

 bicycle

Phil Wood – Simply the best hubs made. First saw one in 1982. Finally got one Xmas 1997 (Diana gave it to me. Just one more reason why I love the girl) and I lusted after one the whole time in between. Mine has over 10,000 miles on it and it just keeps getting smoother. Not the lightest, nearly the most expensive, pretty as a picture, best damn hubs on earth and they'll outlive you and probably your kids too.

Rivendell Bicycle Works – Grant and the guys at Rivendell aren't retro-grouches, they just love bikes from a simpler time. They understand bicycles and put their heart and souls into the ones they make. (I want an All-Rounder) And besides they know Phil Wood personally. I mean they hang out together. Oh and they sell this really weird pine tar soap. It smells like you just walked into the tire department at Sears. Its cool.

Terry Precision Cycling – Georgena Terry makes bikes and accessories designed specifically for women. I've never ridden one of her bikes and frankly since they're designed women they probably wouldn't fit me anyway but I like her attitude and her style. She's a positive force in bicycling.

Waterford Bicycles – Incredibly beautiful steel bikes from a group that I guess were the Paramount/Schwinn pro shop guys or something like that. You can have your steel bike anyway you want too. All it takes is cash. Lots of it.

 naturism

205 Argements in Support of Naturism – In this 1996 article from N 16.1, K. Bacher offers some good reasons for nudity acceptance. The PDF version includes Bacher's supporting footnotes and bibliography from the naturist, general and academic press.

American Association for Nude Recreation – Nude people ahead. If you freak out about such things please don't go here. And geez... lighten up.

Being and Nakedness – Charles Daney's informative site with about a million naturism links.

the Florida Association for Nude Recreation, Inc. (FANR) – A statewide organization of clubs that promote the concept of social nudism. This includes the belief in the essential wholesomeness of the human body, and the naturalness of social nudism. FANR endeavors to establish, maintain, and foster the establishment of public and private resorts, camps, parks, beaches, and other areas for the enjoyment of nude recreation.

Google Nudism Guide –: Googles guide to nudism on the web. As always if you're offended by nude people don't go here and by all means... lighten up!

the Naturist Journal – Naturist news from around the web.

the Naturist Society – The Naturist Society believes the human body is natural, not shameful. However, if images of non-erotic, non-sexual nudity offend you, our site may not be for you.

politics | rants & raves
