philosophicINTERESTING Two out of three new drilling rigs built today is not drilling for oil. It is drilling for natural gas. Interesting.

politics COMMENTin the shadowsMarch 8, 2002 So our feckless leader has put a shadow government in place in case he and the rest of the Washington brain trust get taken out by terrorists. Just as a precaution they say so we can all sleep better at night. Are you sleeping better? I'm not. I'm wondering who the hell they are and by what authority do they become our leaders if Duhbya et. al. get killed. Where is this outlined in the Constitution or have we shelved that old piece of paper? Did you vote for a shadow administration? I didn't see them on my ballot... chads or no chads. Did Congress get to confirm the shadow cabinet? Why isn't America questioning this? Are we so blinded by our temporary patriotism that we forget all about democratic elections? Imagine if something were to happen to the current administration and we woke up tomorrow to find that the Shadow Administration was now running the show. Would you simply pledge your allegiance to the new Resident? What the hell is going on? The Constitution provides a chain of command should something happen to the Resident. I for one would like to stick to the Constitution thank you (The Constitution according to our founding fathers, not the new abridged version by John Ashcroft). I'm beginning to think Americans have gone brain dead just because our brave soldiers are whomping on someone right now. Wake up America!?! George Bush might be evil but at least we know who he is. © Copyright iriguchi 2002 |
