DEPTPHILOSOPHIC
waxing philosophicI guess that should be, "I'm gonna wax philosophic." The purpose of the philosophic department is to make you think or allow me to think out loud. Or both... For instance, another child gunned down two people a few days ago at a high school and 'Gee' Dubya in his wisdom immediately labeled it a "disgusting act of cowardice". About as disgusting as all the money he takes from the NRA which contributes directly to incidents like that, in my view, but that's just my view. Will this be a fair forum? Nah, probably not, it's my site. But hopefully it will make you think and interest you enough to come back and read more and besides, you can always e-mail me. UPDATES politics | 01/19/03 | deep thoughts Helen Thomas: At the earlier briefing, Ari, you said that the President deplored the taking of innocent lives. Does that apply to all innocent lives in the world?... | dave politics | 01/12/03 | smoking gun So far the UN weapons inspectors have found no evidence of weapons of mass destruction, no smoking gun, as it were, in Iraq... | dave rants & raves | 01/04/03 | speedway I love speedway. In fact I even like saying it... speedway. It's one of those words that you can't just say either. You have to emphasize it... SPEEDWAY!... | dave politics | 01/01/03 | Iraq is toast I was wrong. Gee Duhbya didn't invade Iraq in October. I really thought he would but it turned out to be politically unnecessary. Lucky for the Iraqis... | dave politics | 09/23/02 | the october surprise Ready for war? It should start sometime in mid-October I figure. That would be to greatest political advantage for the resident, or so he thinks. It will be the October Surprise that won't surprise anyone at all.... | dave politics | 03/08/02 | diligence We are a nation at war. A war on terrorism they say. My Mom and Dad told me some about their experience with war. They were very young children in Hawaii, December 7, 1941... | dave politics | 03/08/02 | the secretive mr. cheney The GAO for the first time in our history has sued the Vice President of the United States... | dave politics | 03/08/02 | in the shadows So our feckless leader has put a shadow government in place in case he and the rest of the Washington brain trust get taken out by terrorists.... | dave rants & raves | 02/10/02 | a boy and his dog Tomo is my buddy. No matter where I go or how long I've been gone he's waiting for me when I come home and is always ridiculously happy to see me. It's embarassing... | dave rants & raves | 09/21/01 | amazing grace Many, if not most people have songs that have special meaning to them... favorite songs, "our song", songs that remind us of times and people past, but Amazing Grace digs deeper. | dave infamy | 09/20/01 | a modest proposal After considerable thought on the matter I've come to the conclusion that the United States, in response to the terrorist attack of 11 September, 2001, should immediately and unmercifully begin carpet bombing the entire nation of Afghanistan... | dave infamy | 09/18/01 | We've developed a new topic INFAMY in the philosophic department. This will be a chronicle of man's inhumanity to man. I debated whether I should have a topic devoted only to this but after the terrorist attack of sept. 11, 2001 I had no choice. I suspect this may be a busy topic in the not-to-distant future. | dave rants & raves | 09/10/01 | suave® shampoo I was washing my hair this morning when a thought struck me... "This Suave® is great shampoo." I could rave about it. | dave politics | 08/27/01 | what's mine is mine Embryonic stem cells. The average person has no idea what they are or how they can be used in research and I guarantee Gee Dubya doesn't. He could probably tell you what part of a plant they come from but beyond that... | dave |
